Any image can be converted to embroidery, that’s for sure. By images I mean more or less the following:
- JPG
- PNG
- BMP
- GIF (Not Animated, because embroidery isn’t)
- PSD
- CDR
- EPS
And embroidery, I mean digitized embroidery files such as:
- DST
- EMB
- PES
- XXX
- CND
- DSB
- and many more. See the full list here.
What does it takes to convert images to embroidery file?
We are talking to two different worlds right now. One the embroidery world of stitches and the other, computer graphics. Like Earth and Mars. Both have completely different characteristics.
Let me tell you, there is no simple way of converting these images to embroidery.
What? How in the world, embroidery files are created.
As i said there is no “SIMPLE” way of doing that, it doesn’t mean it cant be done. Of course it can be done by the process called digitizing. A process in which the designer recreates every element in the image with stitches.
And yes, this is tedious.
The image is traced by special software built specifically for the embroidery industry. These software are expensive and intensive to learn. Because, its not just tracing the image, that’s just beginning. After tracing the designer then, adjusts the flow, color changes, appropriate densities and then some magical spells.
Finally! the Embroidery File is born. Just name it! and save it.
I really hope, that some day, some software can just convert in a few clicks.
Till then, keep using CheapDigitizing’s Embroidery Digitizing Service.
